Binance is a centralized cryptocurrency exchange.

Background

Prior to starting Binance, CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) was a part of the team that developed the Blockchain.info wallet, and served as chief technology officer of OKCoin. In July of 2017, Binance held its token sale, which sold 200 million BNB tokens for $15 million USD.[1] Within eight months of its inception, Binance had become the largest digital assets exchange by traded value. In June of 2018, Binance opened a bank account in Malta, with hopes to create a fiat-to-crypto portal.[3]

Binance seeks to open a decentralized exchange (DEX), though there is no time frame announced.[4]
